Dig Deeper - Analysis
When you want to deliberately reflect, review and confirm your Instant Thinking, go from Surface to Deeper. Select a tool in Analysis, Solutions, Sense Making, Results and Feedback. These processes enable critical thinking, assessments, visualization, seeking patterns, learning from others, sharing work and collaboration. There are more than 20 available tools.
Start to fix Sitches by using the different Actions in Deeper. Select from the Deeper icons in the Sitch page and record your ideas.
Fishbones are used for finding the causes for the Sitch. This helps clarify what to focus on when you fix, change or improve the Sitch. It focuses your attention on the right things.
80/20 Rule is about asking the question "Which aspect of the problem or solution causes the greatest consequences or results?" Usually 20% of the problem or solution causes 80% of the consequence or results. This helps you focus on the right things.
Sketch your ideas and items to help you visualize your understanding of the issues in the Sitch. You may want to sketch patterns, similarities or dissimilarities. Your sketch can be very basic, which is alright, or very advanced.
This is an open discussion about the Sitch. Please post your observations, ask questions, reply and help others. You can also add files, links, photos and videos. Use the other actions in Analysis, Solutions and Impacts for more specific actions.
The Checklists are steps, processes, procedures or lists of ideas to help fix, change or find a solution for the incident, situation, event, challenge, etc. This helps provide a quick guide to review main points.
Frames present different views of the Sitch. This helps you gain a 360-degree perspective. It also provides insights to possible biases. Your actions' success or failure are influenced by other people's feelings, culture, values, sentiments, and emotional attachments. Frames help you look at other people’s sentiments and emotional attachments and allow you to understand them better and refine your approaches and solutions.
One way to assess solutions and make go or no-go decisions is to list the pros, the reasons that favors the decisions, and the cons, the reasons that do not support the solution. This approach helps you to weigh things.
Share files, videos and links that may help in the solution of the Sitch. This adds valuable resources.
This is a mini-scenario. By presenting a solution that shows the different scenarios, you improve your understanding of the options in solving the Sitch.
When you face challenges, sometimes you have no control over moving some obstacles. So what do you do? You develop workarounds. You workaround the obstacles and achieve your goals.
Go/No Go is a decision tree tool. This helps you with making “Yes” (go) or “No” (no go) decisions. The tool allows you to reflect on your analysis or solutions before committing to action.
Scaling is a method of dealing with unexpected, unknown or exception work issues. This helps you “think through” the process of considering current “Standards”, defining the “Deviations”, and then finding or creating new ways, methods or solutions.
To fix, solve and improve work issues, follow the 5-step process of Improving Work. Start with 1 and end with 5. The steps help you to have a “thinking process” to get better quality results.
The tools help you to follow a troubleshooting path. It allows you to consider your options and responding to each option. You can visualize the flow of your options and choices.
The Steps/Procedures tool helps you prepare a flowchart or a series of steps and procedures. This is valuable when you want to study the steps and flow, sequence and then share with your teams or ask them to comment.
In sharing and submitting content to help others or for your own research, follow the standards for submitting content that produces the most reliable answers. Complete the Surface and Deep Sources.
Double-click on the 'My Main Idea' box to start to edit main idea and add sub-ideas. Continue to click on the boxes and add your Mapping Ideas as necessary to visually organize information hierarchically and show relationships among pieces of the whole.
Sense making helps you see the big picture and identify patterns, trends, highlights of your learning. Combine all you’ve learned from the Sitch with Sense Making. This is a synthesis of the key ideas you learned from the Sitch which others call also as the "takeaways."
